O-Young Kwon was born in Berlin/Germany.

His perception as a multimedia storyteller himself led him to look into different subcultures and made him aware of certain social issues, which are often rooted in political circumstances. Inevitably he turned into a conscientious photographer following ethical principles.

His documentary work endevours to be powerful, exposing social ills and injustice. He offers an authentic perspective, characterized by human empathy and critical reflection, that invites us to accept and take responsibility. Giving a voice to marginalised people that needs to be heard, revealing both beauty and the vulnerability of us all.

Currently, O-Young Kwon works primarily as a multimedia documentarian and partly as a unit stills photographer for TV shows and feature films without neglecting his passion for directing light based in both Germany and Greece. His projects receive recurring international attention through print media and are showcased at various photography festivals worldwide.
