He graduated from ITESO university (Guadalajara) with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts, and holds a master’s degree in Screenwriting from Intercontinental University (Mexico City). He is also a university professor at ITESO, the Escuela Bancaria Comercial (Commercial Banking School), and the TEC de Monterrey, all based in Guadalajara.


Since 2005, he has been a freelance news and documentary producer and cameraman for international media outlets such as The Associated Press, Al Jazeera, Viory News, BBC, Ruptly, Discovery, as well as various productions from Discovery, Netflix, and Amazon.

 

Some of his most important coverages have been: the earthquake in Concepción, Chile, in 2010, the Anniversary of the Earthquake in Haiti in 2011, hurricane seasons from 2005 to 2017, the Qatari satellite launch in French Guiana in 2013, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2016 Olympic Games, the Papal tours in Mexico in 2012 and 2016, South America in 2015 and Cuba in 2016, the visit of President Barack Obama to Cuba in 2016, the 2017 Mexico City earthquake, the Funerals of Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro and Queen Elizabeth II (2022), as well as the 2023 APEC forum and the 2024 US elections.

 

With this experience and support from the GDL Impulsa initiative, he founded his audiovisual production services boutique company: RON Media. Under this name he has continued his work with international news media, produced corporate videos, and provided services for TV and film productions.

 

He is the author of the book "Time and Airports, from Reality to the Screen," in which he chronicles his experiences as an audiovisual journalist.
